Four years ago I was one of those so called "swing voter". It was the first time when I actually paid close attention to what was going on in the world of politics. I was green then. I didn't correlate myself to any parties, and still don't as a matter of fact. However, when Election Day came around I voted Democrat. I voted Al Gore. He had me convinced that he was the right person to lead a country. Come on now, how can you not vote for someone who invented the Internet! ;)
And so here we are four years later. I leaned towards the Democrats, again. Similar to many people in this country, I wasn’t content with how the current administration was running the country. There were too many backdoor deals happening that the public wasn’t exposed to, I thought. And it’s been said by many that this administration has been the most secretive people that had occupied the White House. And with all those said, including his records, Bush still managed to win a second term in office. I was also in utter disbelief, lady.
I can only imagine what will he will bring forth for this country. I often question if he can unite such a divided nation. Too many wounds have been widely opened, and I wonder what will he do to start to heal them. Thus far I shake my head. Four more years?! It’s still hard to believe, actually.
Barack Obama. A tiny shred of hope to cling to as darkness spreads across the land. However, don’t mourn, organize.
